About the author

Eero Järnefelt (1863–1937) - one of Finland’s most prominent representatives of realist painting and an important figure in national art. His work is distinguished by its detailed depictions of nature, sensitive rendering of light, and strong connection to the Finnish landscape and its people.

Järnefelt often painted forests, lakes, scenes of rural life, and the everyday lives of ordinary people, conveying an authentic Finnish atmosphere.

The artist paid particular attention to the grandeur of nature and the relationship between people and their surroundings, which is why his works are considered an important part of Finland’s national identity and culture.
