About the author

Eero Järnefelt (1863–1937) – one of Finland’s most prominent representatives of realist painting and an important figure in national art. His work is distinguished by its detailed depictions of nature, sensitive rendering of light, and strong connection to Finland’s landscapes and people.

Järnefelt often painted forests, lakes, scenes of rural life, and the everyday lives of ordinary people, conveying an authentic Finnish atmosphere.
